Even as a young child, I had a hunger to know God’s Word. I can remember listening to my pastor and other preachers and hearing them say, “In the original Greek that word means . . .” And I would think to myself, how do you know that? And how do I know what you are telling me is true, and where do I get that mysterious Greek (or Hebrew) book that tells me what the word means? I listened with a you’ll-have-to-prove-it-to-me attitude. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I have always encouraged my children – and my Bible study students – to come to their own conclusions about Scripture. Just make sure it is an educated, informed opinion that comes from diligent study.

When I discovered inductive Bible study over 17 years ago, it fit me like a glove. It opened the Word of God to me like no other study had ever done.
