Monday’s International Spotlight – India
With a population well over one billion, India is the most populous democracy in the world. Despite its supposed democratic form of government, it has been the scene of much political upheaval in recent years. The predominant religion is Hinduism (over 80%). With Christians making up only 2% of the population, India has become known as a country unfriendly to Christians. It ranks 22 on Open Doors’ 2009 World Watch List indicating severe limitations on religious freedom.
Despite the risk of persecution and even danger, Precept Ministries India is working hard to bring the Word of God to the people of India. Through Bible study classes and seminars, they are teaching people how to study the Bible for themselves and discover truth for themselves using the Inductive Study Method. India is just one of the almost 150 countries where Precept Ministries International is establishing people everywhere in God’s Word.
