For the past several months, Precept Camden has been studying the book of Revelation in our weekly Bible study. One of the things we are going to do on our last day of class is develop a timeline of events based on the things that we have learned in our study. A very interesting and helpful resource is Charting the End Times by Tim LaHaye and Thomas Ice. The cover of the book describes itself as “a visual guide to understanding Bible prophecy.” It has easy to understand explanations of things such as Bible prophecy, the feasts of Israel, the millennial reign of Christ, the book of Daniel, as well as a host of other interesting biblical topics. The colorful illustrations and charts are not only beautiful but are also easy to read. Precept Camden is currently studying the book of Revelation using this workbook written by Kay Arthur as a guide. As we study this incredible book, part of the learning process has been to draw – or attempt to draw – some of the scenes described by the Apostle John. This is a helpful study tool that aids in the retention of information. However, few of us have created beautiful works of art that we would be proud to show to others, much less hang on our walls. It is a study tool and not much else.

But there is someone who has created stunning works of art illustrating various scenes from the book of Revelation. We have been offering online Bible studies here at Precept Camden for some time now. I have been teaching a weekly Bible study in my community for 13 years. A couple of years ago, I started preceptcamden.com as a resource for my class. I began uploading the audio of our class discussions so that anyone who had to miss class could catch up by listening online. What started as a service to my “in person” students grew into an avenue of study for those who could not attend on Tuesday mornings.

Here’s how it works: I upload the audio from our class discussion each week right after our Tuesday morning Bible study and it stays on the website. So you can do it at your own convenience – which is what many people are looking for. You will do your lesson each week and then listen to our class discussion. It is unedited. My online students tell me that they get a lot out of listening to the discussion. Inevitably, someone will ask a question that they had, too. I assign accountability partners to those online students who request one. They connect with their partner through email, facebook, or whatever way is convenient for them. This has been a learning experience for all of us, but it has also been an incredible surprise and blessing.

Now Precept Ministries International is offering another option for online Bible study through their Connect Site. This Bible study is done in real time through a chat room.
