Ever come to the end of a book and felt like you were still in the middle of the story? Maybe you were. . . Check out this interactive article on Luke and Acts by Christopher R. Smith at Bible Study Magazine. It describes these two books as a two-volume set instead of separate stories. I have written several posts on the perfect pens for marking your Bible. I have expressed my love and affection for a variety of writing instruments. After much research (i.e., personal use) and hundreds of dollars spent (okay, maybe not hundreds but still alot), I have concluded that the above equation is true.

There are many incredible Bible study software programs available for purchase. There’s PC Study Bible. It’s user friendly and reasonably priced. There’s Logos. It’s complicated to use and pricey, but, boy oh boy, is it a Rolls Royce in a field of Bible software Hyundais. If you are a serious student of the Word, then you need to pack away those bulky, dusty volumes of books and invest in a good software program.

But did you know that there are multitudes of free Bible study resources on the web? One of my favorites is BibleStudyTools.com.  There are commentaries, dictionaries, encyclopedias, concordances, lexicons, and different translations. It is easy enough for a novice to use and yet has a depth of material that even a seasoned student will appreciate.

According to Rick Brannan, the New Testament did not drop out of heaven. It was written by real men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God. He, along with John D. Barry, have produced an interactive article for Bible Study Magazine which can be found here. This article explores the roots of the New Testament and is not only informative, but is also very interesting.

Did you know that there are actual original copies of the New Testament still in existence today? Some are mere fragments of texts, but they are original, nonetheless. That is fascinating to me. What is also fascinating besides this article is this chart and the interactive media portion of the article which can be accessed by going here and clicking on “Launch Media.”

The people at Logos and Bible Study Magazine have once again given us a scholarly look at an ancient subject using modern technology. Here are some other interactive articles from them: Canon Comparison Chart , Counting the Ten Commandments , and Chapters and Verses in the Bible .

In this post I suggested that Crayola Twistables Colored Pencils should be reserved for coloring books. At the time I wrote that misguided review, all I could see was the inability to get a sharp point on them. I used to think that the person who invented those liquid correction pens should receive a special award of some kind. I have changed my mind. The person who invented these little numbers deserves the award. They are the Pentel Petit Corre Corrections Tapes. They are available in 4 different widths. The 2.5 mm width is great for those tiny mess-ups you may make when marking in your Bible. The 6 mm width covers larger errors. I think I’ll use this one in my Precept Upon Precept Bible study workbook. Sometimes it takes 3 swipes with a standard correction tape device to completely cover my goof-ups. But one swipe with the 6 mm should do it.
