Please could someone e-mail me with a site that provides symbols and or reccomends what symbols for use in inductive bible study. I want to start using Kay Arthur’s New Inductive Study Series and also start developing my own symbols for study. Can anyone suggest how good the Logos Software for Inductive Study is also. What is the best to purchase in terms of Cost? I live one hour from Cape Town, in South Africa.

    Mike Dellar at dellar.mike@gmail.com

P.S. Chris the symbol for fruit could be an apple coloured red. Anyone else want to post there own symbols or start an Inductive Bible Study Website dedicated soley to symbol suggestions for Inductive Bible Study Symbols…have yet to find such a site. It would be nice to suggest and compare!… ANYONE?

I agree with Mike that a website solely dedicated to Keyword symbols is an AWESOME idea. Or maybe even just a main tab/link on the international Precept website?

Until then, this is the most comprehensive keyword list I’ve found so far. Thanks so much for sharing all of your hard work!

(And of course, if anyone knows of a website that has an even more comprehensive list than this one, PLEASE share!)

    Thanks!
    :-)

Great to see that someone at last agrees with me! Lets put this to a vote! Who else would like a dedicated keyword symbol site or main tab/link on the international precept site, so that they can download symbols whenever they get stuck or need help? Please forward your comments here! Oh and of course it needn’t be only Kari Dent who posts symbols here…all students of inductive study are welcome! Who else has some awesome symbols they,ve come up with that they want to share! My new symbol for angel is a red heart with gold coloured wings attached and a gold coloured halo above! Anyone have suggestions for symbol, feel free to share; and lets see if we can convince Precept Ministeries to get this dedicated website or tab/link up and running!

Keri Dent, I could not believe there was anything like this available. This is wonderful! I used to call my Precept leaders sometimes when I became bogged down trying to come up with a symbol. I would love to have my own personal copies of the symbols, but I was unable to copy from the site.

Not sure if anyone requested this, but could someone actually make these adorable little charts bigger? I am so non-techie. I love them, too, and would love to have this page as a reference for all the students of Precept! THANK YOU, CYBER HELPER!!

Thank-you so much! I have copied the symbols and have been gladly using them. I have led a small (my first) precept group. Soon, we will begin our 2nd book of the Bible. I introduced your symbols to our group just before we ended the summer session. Everyone loved them and most everyone went straight and copied them right off. The symbols will be invaluable during our fall session.

I check back regularly to see if their are new ones and hand-copy them onto my new symbols page.I am so glad you have these updates!

It appears I am having the same trouble printing the key word symbol pages that others have had. If you are able, could you please e-mail these to me also? This will be a huge timesaver for me to not have to spend the time coming up with a symbol of my own!

    God bless!

I have had several people ask me to email the scans to them. But after I have given them instructions on how to print them, they have not had any problems. So try this and if you still have problems, please email me back and I will send them to you. Click on one of the pictures. That will bring up a larger picture of the scan. Then hit Ctrl P on your keyboard and select Print. Do that for each page and you should be able to print them out. Again, please let me know if you still have problems and I will email them to you. Thank you for visiting Precept Camden! Kari Dent

I really appreciate your site and the suggested symbols. I am on my third Kay Arthur study, and wracking my brain for symbols has been a chore. Have you considered producing laminated symbol cards for sale? It would be great to market them with the studies. I have printed the sheets off of your site, but I would love to have them all on one or two laminated pages to slip in my bible. Just a suggestion, and God bless!

Kari, Thank you for your kind comments about our site. The Key Word Symbol pages are not original to me. They are a resource that was shared with me by a friend from Precept headquarters in Chattanooga. I wish I knew who did them so I could thank them! However, Precept Ministries is currently working on a project similar to what you described – a laminated fold-out that fits in your Bible. So stay tuned. When it comes out, I will feature it at preceptcamden.com. Don’t forget to click on the Key Word Symbols Category in the right sidebar for more key word symbol ideas. Those symbols *are *my own. I am happy to share them. You can add those to the pages you printed out. That will be one of the drawbacks of laminated cards – can’t add to them. Thank you for visiting and check back often! thanks so much for including these valuable tools for study on your blog. I really enjoyed using them for the study on Covenants. It made the study so much more timely since I didn’t need to make up my own symbols… and that made it possible to complete my study!
