See It for Yourself Study: Revive Me, Teach Me

What is the longest chapter in the Bible? With 176 verses, Psalm 119 claims the title. The book of Psalms is my favorite book in the Bible, and Chapter 119 is one of my favorite chapters. It is all about the Word of God and its relationship to our lives and our relationship to it. Do you esteem the Word of God highly in your life? Is it your instruction book for living? Is it a lamp for your feet and a light for your path, as Psalm 119:105 claims it should be?

Click here to download and print a free inductive See It for Yourself Study on Psalm 119:25-40 called “Revive Me, Teach Me” from Precept Ministries International. These quick See It for Yourself Studies (formerly called Lightning Studies) take about 15 minutes to complete and are a great introduction to inductive Bible study. Discover what God says about His Word and the place it should hold in our lives.

There are many incredible Bible study software programs available for purchase. There’s PC Study Bible. It’s user friendly and reasonably priced. There’s Logos. It’s complicated to use and pricey, but, boy oh boy, is it a Rolls Royce in a field of Bible software Hyundais. If you are a serious student of the Word, then you need to pack away those bulky, dusty volumes of books and invest in a good software program.

But did you know that there are multitudes of free Bible study resources on the web? One of my favorites is BibleStudyTools.com.  There are commentaries, dictionaries, encyclopedias, concordances, lexicons, and different translations. It is easy enough for a novice to use and yet has a depth of material that even a seasoned student will appreciate.

Precept Camden loves this free tool so much that we have put a badge in the right sidebar for easy access to all of the valuable resources BibleStudyTools.com has to offer. Just click on the picture above or the one just like it in the sidebar, and check out this great free site.

Key Word Symbol – “doctrine”

The key word symbol that I use for the word “doctrine” is related to the symbol I use for “faith” which is found on the Key Word Symbol Bookmark from Precept Ministries. For “doctrine,” I use a red gel pen and color it in with a green pencil. For the words “faith,” “believe,” and “truth” I use the same symbol and color it in with a green pencil but outline it with purple pen.

Precept Ministries is offering an online Bible study this summer on the latest book in the Sweeter than Chocolate series. It is a 6-week study of Hebrews 11 – that great Hall of Faith chapter in the Bible. The study will be led by the author of the book, Pam Gillaspie.
