The best pens got better!

The folks at JetPens have done it again. They have brought more Japanese office supply awesomeness to us. I have been singing the praises of the Pilot Frixion Erasable Gel Pens for a long time.  They are perfect for marking in your Bible when doing inductive Bible study. Make a mistake? No problem! Just erase the thermo-sensitive gel ink through the magic of friction. And now JetPens has the same great erasable gel ink in a retractable body.  No more losing caps or forgetting to replace them. Just click on and off! The pens can be purchased individually or in a pack of 10 great colors:  black, red, blue, blue black, green, light green, orange, pink, light blue, and violet. They come in 2 sizes: .7 mm and .5 mm.

Try them and let me know what you think.

  1. Do these pens ‘soak’ thru Bible paper? I used some pens once that appeared not to, then a few weeks later they had!

  2. No, Jane, they absolutely do not bleed through the thin pages of my Bible. That’s another reason I love them and believe they are the perfect pen for marking in your Bible!

  3. Mary, as far as I know they are not available in most stores. They are available on Amazon but they are quite pricey. The best value can be found at They are $10 cheaper at JetPens than at Amazon and they qualify for free shipping.

  4. Jan, I haven’t tried those particular markers. Almost all of the pens I recommend here at Precept Camden are pens that I believe are great for Bible marking. I’m not sure I need a marker (vs. a pen) for my Bible. However, I can think of a lot of other uses for those awesome erasable markers! 😉

  5. Yes, very true if they’re dark markers but in the pictures the colors look as light as colored pencils so I thought you might have tried them. The next time I go to Japan town in the city I’ll see if I can find some to try writing with & if they are light I’ll “have” to buy a couple 🙂

  6. Yes, Jan, it is your duty to the body of Christ to buy those markers, test them, and let us know how they work. 😉

  7. I see you like the FriXion markers. I never found any to “test” at the pen store in SF so I didn’t get any – glad to know they work so well per your recent post. Hope you’ll share some about your trip to Japan too.
